HOMECOMING 2020: AT HOME TOGETHER
By Christina Bowers
Homecoming is the time of year when students, faculty, and alumni get together to watch the Homecoming football game, enjoy each other's company, connect, reconnect, and enjoy Widener as a whole. However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Homecoming was less of an in-person event and more of a virtual event. The Pride Activity Council worked hard to put together activities to make this Homecoming as fun as possible even though we are all far away.

Beta Alpha Psi, the Honor Society for Financial Information Students and Professionals, hosted a virtual event at which previous Widener Alumni talked about their experience at Widener and the decisions that led them to the path they are on today. This event helped students to gain insight of different career paths and talk to and network with Widener Alumni.
A virtual escape room was also held during Homecoming. Students could grab their friends and try to escape a virtual escape room in the comfort of their home. Other activities like Bingo and many other networking events were held through Zoom as well.
Of course, Widener did a great job of bringing the Pride together in the comfort of our homes during this unfortunate pandemic that is keeping us all apart. Many of our first-year students were probably looking forward to having their first Widener Homecoming on campus, but they still got to enjoy so many of the awesome activities hosted by Widener!
The football games, tailgates, movies, and all the other in-person fun activities were definitely missed this Homecoming by many students and alumni, but hopefully we will be able to enjoy all our Homecoming festivities next year!!
